2006 News 09.11.06 - EH Motorsports finishes the season at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course Edwin's final event of the season had its mix of highs and lows. During the Sat. race, Edwin ran as high as fifth. On the last lap, Adam Treadway dove to the inside of turn 7 forcing Edwin to the outside. Unable to find enough grip on the dirty part of the track, Edwin spun off the track and into the gravel trap, ending his race. On Sun., Edwin had a great start rocketing him from sixth to third. After a tough battle with Eric Budwit and working his way up to second, Edwin's handling started to go away and he ended up finishing forth. For video of Edwin's start, click here. 09.04.06 - A return visit to Grattan Raceway Hoping for better weather than the previous Grattan race, Edwin returned for the annual Labor Day Weekend double regional. The weather was cold, but nice. However, Edwin battled mechanical problems with a failing transmission. He still was able to finish eighth in the Sat. race and seventh on Sun.
08.28.06 - EH Motorsports visits Edwin's home track, Waterford Hills After a busy season of running SCCA Nationals, Edwin returns for an event at Waterford Hills in Oakland County, Michigan. Damp weather forced drivers to make decisions on tire choice, adding an element of strategy. Edwin finished second in the Feature Race among some tough Waterford regulars.
07.31.06 - Disappointing finish after strong qualifying at Nelson Ledges Edwin qualified in a strong seventh place in his second visit to Nelson Ledges Road Course. Unfortunately, after a couple of off-track excursions, he dropped back to finish 16th.
05.29.06 - Edwin Ho scores a top ten finish at O'Reilly Raceway Park In his first visit to O'Reilly Raceway Park (formerly Indianapolis Raceway Park), Edwin improved on his times in each session. Edwin was able to run a lap fast enough to put him 13th on the grid, but due to several cars showing up late on Sun, he ended up starting ninth. Edwin battled his way up and down the leader board during the first few laps, but then settled into a pace for the remainder of the race. In the end, his performance was good enough for ninth overall.
05.29.06 - EH Motorsports visits Nelson Ledges Road Course EH Motorsports makes its inaugural visit to the Nelson Ledges Road Course to run against some racers from SCCA's Northeast Division. Nelson Ledges is a fast and bumpy road course where the Spec Miatas averaged over 90 mph. After qualifying 13th, Edwin ran bumper-to-bumper and side-by-side with Dale Black for nearly 23 laps. In the end, Edwin finished 11th and Dale finished 10th.
05.21.06 - University of Waterloo Formula SAE Team takes 5th in Design Event at the FSAE Competition The University of Waterloo made it into the Design Finals again and finished 5th in the event. Due to engine problems eventually resulting in a catastrophic failure, they were unable to run any of the dynamic events. The Formula SAE Competition is a collegiate design competition where students conceive, design, fabricate, and compete with small formula racing cars. 140 schools from all over the world were registered to compete in this year's event at Ford's Michigan Proving Grounds. 04.15.06 - Weather a major factor at the Grattan National Battling wet weather all weekend, Edwin struggled to find grip on the constantly wet track. During Saturday qualifying, Edwin was able to put the EH Motorsports Miata 10th on the grid. In the race, Edwin worked his way up to 9th. On lap 9, while lapping two cars, Edwin spun the car and got stuck in the mud. After being pulled out, Edwin was able to bring the car home in 13th.
04.23.06 - Edwin Ho finishes 6th in the very first SCCA CenDiv National Spec Miata race After qualifying 6th in a competitive field of Spec Miatas, Edwin had a rough start, falling back to 8th before turn three. After putting his head down, Edwin climbed his way up to 5th, but in the end, brought it home in 6th.
04.14.06 - Gingerman Raceway site of first test One week prior to the first ever SCCA CenDiv National Spec Miata race, EH Motorsports shakes down their new car. In the mix of wet and dry conditions, Edwin was able to sort out the bugs to prepare for his first race of the year.
04.01.06 - EH Motorsports to compete in Spec Miata EH Motorsports announces that it will compete in the SCCA's newest national class... Spec Miata. Spec Miata is the nation's fastest growing class, where 1990 - 2005 Miatas are all prepared with specified suspension kits and limited modifications. Stay tuned as Edwin makes his run toward the 2006 SCCA National Championship Runoffs®.
